U.S. water ski athletes Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) and Dane Mechler (Clermont, Fla.) won titles in respective events at the 2024 MasterCraft Pro, Sept. 28-29, at Action Water Sports’ Lake Grew in Polk City, Fla. Some of the world’s top slalom and jump water ski athletes competed in the event.

Mechler, who missed the majority of the 2024 season after suffering an injury at the Swiss Pro Slalom in May, won his first career professional slalom title, scoring 4-1/2 buoys at 41 feet off in the finals. Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.) placed second with 3-1/2 at 41 off and Corey Vaughn (Bumpass, Va.) finished third (3-1/4 at 41 off).

Jaquess won the women’s slalom title, her second consecutive and fourth career MasterCraft Pro title, scoring 2 buoys at 41 feet off. She was the only women’s athlete to run the 39-1/2 off pass in the finals. Canada’s Jaimee Bull placed second (5 at 39-1/2 off).

Krueger won men’s jump, his second consecutive and fourth career MasterCraft Pro title, soaring 232 feet in the finals. Great Britain’s Joel Poland placed second (228 feet) and Taylor Garcia (Winter Garden, Fla.) finished third (219 feet).

Hanna Straltsova (IWWF) won women’s jump with a distance of 181 feet.
