Erika Lang Wins Women’s Tricks At Monaco Slalom Cup

Erika Lang (Gilbert, Ariz.) won the women’s tricks title on Wednesday at the 2024 Monaco Slalom Cup in Roquebrune-sur-Argens, Monaco. Some of the world’s top professional water ski athletes competed for titles in slalom and tricks at the two-day tournament.


Lang, who earned the top seed for the finals with a score of 11,030 points in the preliminary round, scored 11,180 points in the finals to clinch the title. Anna Hunter (Winter Garden, Fla.) placed second (10,670 points), followed by Canada’s Neilly Ross (10,610 points). Alexia Abelson finished fifth (8,620 points).


Chile’s Matias Gonzalez won men’s tricks, scoring 12,410 points in the finals. Mexico’s Patricio Font placed second (12,370 points), followed by Ukraine’s Danylo Filchenko (11,990 points). Jake Abelson (Holderness, N.H.) placed fourth (11,310 points).


Canada’s Jaimee Bull won the women’s slalom title, scoring 1 buoy at 41 feet off in the finals. Canada’s Paige rini placed second (2 at 39-1/2 off), followed by Elizabeth Montavon (Lake Worth, Fla.) and Allie Nicholson (Gallatin, Tenn.), who scored 2 at 39-1/2 off and 1-1/2 at 39-1/2 off, respectively.


Great Britain’s Will Asher won the men’s slalom title, scoring 6 at 41 off in the finals. Great Britain’s Freddie Winter (4 at 41 off) and Canada’s Cole McCormick (3 at 41 off) placed second and third, respectively. Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.) finished fourth (3 at 41 off).
