Smith, Krueger Win Titles At California Water Ski Pro Am

U.S. water ski athletes Nate Smith (McCordsville, Ind.) and Freddy Krueger (Winter Garden, Fla.) won titles in respective events at the 22nd California Water Ski Pro Am, presented by Nautique, Aug. 24-25, at Shortline Lake in Elk Grove, Calif.

Krueger soared 231 feet to win men’s jump over Great Britain’s Joel Poland (225 feet).

Smith won men’s slalom over Great Britain’s Will Asher, scoring 4 buoys at 41 feet off to Asher's 2 buoys at 41 feet off in the head-to-head final.

Canada’s Whitney McClintock-Rini won women’s slalom over Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.), scoring 2 buoys at 41 feet off to Jaquess' 1-1/2 buoys at 41 feet off in the head-to-head final.

Hanna Straltsova (IWWF) won women’s jump with a distance of 178 feet. Lauren Morgan (Odessa, Fla.) placed second with a distance of 167 feet.
