Hudson Gentry won the gold medal in U14 Boys (85.00 points).

The U.S. Wakeboard Team won the overall team gold medal and eight U.S. wakeboard athletes won medals, including three gold, in respective divisions at the 2022 IWWF Pan American Wakeboard Championships, May 13-14, in Nova Lima, Brazil.

Members of the U.S. Wakeboard Team were: Elle Christensen (Orlando, Fla.), Vivienne Davidson (Westlake, Texas), Hudson Gentry (Hickory, N.C.), Cody Hunnicutt (Orlando, Fla.), Kira Lewis (Clermont, Fla.), Chad Lowe (Sebastopol, Calif.), Jake Pelot (Orlando, Fla.), Victor Sanchez (Houston, Texas), Aiden Sievers (Gary, S.D.) and Kitt Smith (Orlando, Fla.).

The U.S. Wakeboard Team scored 685 points in securing the gold medal. Mexico earned the silver (560 points) and Brazil earned the bronze (500 points). Argentina (420 points) and Colombia (269 points) rounded out the top-five placements in the eight-team field.

Divisions of competition were U14 Boys/Girls, Junior (U18) Men/Women, Masters (Over 30) Men/Women, Veteran (Over 40) Men/Women and Open Men/Women. Athletes were scored on execution, intensity and composition.

Smith won the gold medal in U14 Girls (80.44 points); Gentry won the gold medal in U14 Boys (85.00 points); Lewis won the gold medal in Junior Women (80.67 points); Davidson earned the silver medal in U14 Girls (46.67 points); Christensen earned the silver medal in Open Women (71.11 points); Pelot earned the silver medal in Open Men (81.89 points); Lowe earned the silver medal in Veteran (Over 40) Men (65.00 points); and Sievers earned the bronze medal in U14 Boys (60.00 points). Sanchez placed fifth in Masters (Over 30) Men and Hunnicutt finished seventh in Open Men.
