Headquarters Welcomes New Business Administrator

USA Water Ski & Wake Sports is pleased to announce the recent hiring of a new staff member to its headquarters operation. Angela Smith took over the position of Business Administrator on Wednesday, Sept. 11.

Smith will provide office support for Executive Director Kevin Michael in the areas of governance, bookkeeping, and general business activities, including payroll and human resources. Smith has more than 20 years of experience as an office administrator, including several years in the non-profit sector.

In her most recent positions, Smith served as a full-charge bookkeeper for Restoring Hope FL, and as an executive administrative assistant for Harris Services Unlimited, Inc.

“There were a lot of candidates I interviewed who wanted a job,” said Michael. “But Angela wanted this job. She grew up water skiing in Winter Haven and was influenced by the Cypress Gardens ski show, and then kicked off an impressive business career, which aligned her perfectly for this role.”

Added Smith: “I’ve been in touch with the great events produced by USA Water Ski & Wake Sports  and have helped volunteer at a number of them. The members are a dedicated group of people in a dynamic sport and I’m looking forward to helping us achieve our goals of membership growth and facilitating sport development.”
