IWWF Disabled Council Approves Craig Timm’s World Jump Records

by Scott N. Atkinson

The International Waterski & Wakeboard Federation’s Disabled Council has approved Craig Timm’s pending A1 (arm amputee) world jump records of 109 feet (round one) and 112 feet (round 2), respectively, set at the 27th USA Adaptive Water Ski National Championships & Team Trials, presented by Visit Central Florida, Sept. 19-21, at Championship Lake in Auburndale, Fla.

Timm set the previous record of 107 feet at the 2009 Disabled Worlds in Vichy, France. Besides breaking a record that had stood for 15 years, Timm’s two record jump distances at the Nationals also are now the longest jumps by any adaptive skier in the world across all disability categories. The longest distance previously was 108 feet set by Ron Williams (LP) in 1995.

The USA Adaptive Nationals featured the United States’ top adaptive water ski athletes competing for national titles in slalom, tricks, jump and overall.
