Cornale, McClintock-Rini Win Titles At Travers Grand Prix

Australia's Lucas Cornale and Canada's Whitney McClintock-Rini won the men's and women's slalom titles, respectively, at the 2024 Travers Grand Prix, Oct. 4-6, at Jack Travers Water Ski School and Sunset Lakes in Groveland, Fla. Many of the world’s top men’s and women’s slalom skiers competed for cash prizes.


Cornale won the men's slalom title, scoring 4-1/2 buoys at 41 feet off in the finals. U.S. athlete Jon Travers finished second (4 at 41 off). U.S. athletes Corey Vaughn (Bumpass, Va.) and Dane Mechler (Clermont, fla.) tied for third place (3 at 41 off).


McClintock-Rini won the women's slalom title after a runoff with Canada's Jaimee Bull. After both skiers tied with 2 buoys at 41 feet off, McClintock-Rini won the runoff with 2 at 41 off to Bull's 5 at 39-1/2 off. U.S. athlete Regina Jaquess (Santa Rosa Beach, Fla.) placed third with 1 at 41 off.
