Junior Water Ski Worlds Under Way

The 12th Junior Water Ski World Championships began Wednesday at the Bujama Lacus Lakes in Lima, Peru. Athletes and teams from more than 20 countries are competing in the biennial event as the world team title and world individual titles in slalom, tricks, jumping and overall are at stake. The tournament runs through Sunday.

Criteria Released For 2009 Masters

The qualifications criteria for the 50th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament and the 17th Junior Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament have been released by Nautiques by Correct Craft, the event sponsor. The tournaments will be held May 22-24 at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.

Award Of Distinction Recipients Announced

The American Water Ski Educational Foundation's Water Ski Hall of Fame Selection Committee has announced the 2009 recipients of its prestigious Award of Distinction. Chuck Dees, Carlos Maciel, Johnnie Matranga, Mike Murphy and Jaap Suyderhoud (posthumously) will receive the Award of Distinction in recognition of their water ski accomplishments and contributions to the water skiing community.
